“One day, the mountain that is in front of you will be so far behind you, it will barely be visible in the distance. But the person you become in learning to get over it? That will stay with you forever – and that is the point of the mountain.” Brianna Wiest

More About
Michelledana Shafran, E-YRT-500, began practicing yoga as a young child while first being informally introduced to it via her extensive studies in dance. Michelledana has been performing and teaching for over three decades. With an interest in dance and psychology, Michelledana received a Master of Science degree in Creative Arts Therapy, specializing in Dance/Movement Therapy from Pratt Institute in 2008. Then in 2013, when Michelledana felt ready to take her love of yoga to the next level, she received her 200-hour yoga teacher certification. Michelledana has since taught over 1,000 hours of classes!

Michelledana has been teaching at Stone Wave since 2018 and in October 2022, she completed her 500-hour yoga teacher certification through the studio. In addition to her regular weekly classes in Gardiner, Michelledana is a guest workshop facilitator for Stone Wave Yoga’s 200-hour yoga teacher trainings, she co-leads Divine Creative retreats, facilitates Stone Wave Yoga's Kids Summer programming, edits and writes articles for the studio newsletter, and also has been known to have sweet sparrows actively tapping at the studio windows during class just as she's gently guiding her students into Savasana.

About how Michelledana incorporates Yoga into her daily and professional life, “Yoga is my go to remedy for healing and it has changed my life for the better! I honestly don’t know what I would do without it! I am a much calmer, happier, and healthier human as a result of my regular yoga/meditation practice and Ayurvedic lifestyle.”
