Born and raised right here in the Hudson Valley, Emma has been incredibly passionate about movement classes since childhood. Some of her favorite styles to practice include hip-hop, burlesque, modern, African, ballet, and of course, yoga! After practicing and finding yoga in a difficult time in her life, she decided to take the 200-hour Teacher Training with Stone Wave Yoga and begin teaching. Shortly afterward, Emma didn't want to stop and completed her 300-hour as well!
While back in college studying dance and psychology, Emma only started to touch the surface on the importance of the mind body connection, as well as the importance of having movement as part of a daily practice. This has developed into what her practice is today. In her classes you can expect an emphasis on breathwork, core strength, meditation and body mind awareness, with the right amount of movement, release, and as always - play. Emma has always believed everyone can and should have the ability to practice any movement and spiritual exercise that calls to them. Her saying has always been “anyone can dance” and this has lovingly evolved to include “anyone can yoga”.
Out of the yoga studio, her other favorite activities include dancing, hiking, reading, spending time with her family and animals, and visiting new towns and local shops. Emma also enjoys traveling with her husband and has visited 24 states in hopes to one day visit all 50!
Outside of her studio work, Emma also offers one on one or group sessions for special events, birthday parties, bachelorette weekends or any group event at location of her student’s choice. She Specializes in breathwork, stretch and strengthening for dancers, movers, and those constantly on their feet! Using a strong emphasis on breathwork, meditation, and core strength, Emma’s sessions allow the practioner to consistently work with their own anatomy in a safe and supportive environment; "The body will ALWAYS tell you what it needs!”
