true love - A Meditation Course is an 8-week course for people who wish to activate a meditation practice into tangible transformation in their life and relationships. Over the course of 8 weeks examine the practice of meditation through the traditions of Yoga and couple them with the study of true love through the book True Love by Thich Nhat Hanh, and personal reflection. Through weekly readings and reflection prompts, group meditation practice and discussion, participants will get actionable learnings to deepen their relationship to true love.

Time:
Wednesday nights from 7:45-9pm EST.

Location: Stone Wave Yoga Gardiner Studio and/or Zoom

Tuition: $180
*Stone Wave Yoga members receive a 10% discount.
Active Stone Wave Yoga Teachers & meditation teacher training graduates receive a 50% discount.

What’s included: Course Workbook & classes. Students will need to get their own copy of True Love.

Who is this course for:
any human being who wants to practice meditation and true love. No prior experience with meditation necessary, but it helps. 

Do you need prior experience: no, but any experience is helpful.

What will happen for you if you take this course? If you engage sincerely with the practice and readings, you will develop new capacities and capabilities to love and be loved. In this possibility, every relationship in your life can become an opportunity for personal and interpersonal growth, self-examination, and enlightenment. 

What can I expect? The typical class format is as follows;

  • 5-10 minute group meditation

  • 20 mins: Q&A from previous week’s reflection prompt or readings

  • 40 mins: lesson and discussion on meditation & True Love

  • Closing meditation + instructions for next week

Does Stone Wave Yoga offer financial help for this course? Two 50% scholarships will be available for students who need financial support. Please email Liz@stonewaveyoga.com for details

What if I can’t make one session? Live/zoom classes will happen on Wednesday nights from 7:45-9pm EST. Recordings will be sent in the following days for anyone who couldn’t make it.

Dr. Michael LaFemina

D.Ac, MS Ed E-RYT

Dr. Michael LaFemina, D.Ac, MS Ed is a meditation & yoga teacher since 2011. He is is the founder of Meditation for Families, co-founder of Golden Light Acupuncture in New Paltz, & the in-house meditation teacher at Stone Wave Yoga, leading workshops such as Meditation 101, Meditation 201, Meditation Teacher Trainings, & Meditation Retreats.

Michael is passionate about helping students and patients achieve optimal health of body, mind, and relationships by integrating meditation practices with Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic principles. He is the founder of Meditation for Families, co-founder of Golden Light Acupuncture in New Paltz, and the in-house meditation teacher at Stone Wave Yoga.
In the past, he has taught yoga and meditation at Columbia University Medical Center, Hofstra University's Honors College, Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers, and was the Mindfulness Instructor at the Tri-State College of Acupuncture. Michael lives in the Hudson Valley, NY with his wife and children.
