OUR PATH
At Stone Wave Yoga, the heart + soul of our teaching, connection, and philosophy is rooted from a place of love. Intention is key and when our intentions are clear, the path is cleared to create a welcoming, safe, and supported space to learn and teach. We embrace various philosophies, journeys, and spiritual paths because we believe they lead to one goal. In this 200 Hour Teacher Training, we invite you to dive into the foundations of the yoga practice. From asanas to subtle energies to comparable scriptures, we offer a training that will help guide you to a deeper connection to yourself to be of better service to yourself and others. Whether you’re looking to deepen your own yoga practice and understanding of yoga or looking to offer teachings into the world, this training is the perfect foundation.

Mentors are instructors on our schedule who are inspired to share their experience and love of yoga with teacher trainees in a closer, more focused and personalized setting. Each mentor will work with 4-5 trainees in smaller groups and you will meet up 1-2 times each month. During these meetings, you’ll have an opportunity to ask detailed questions, practice teach, receive feedback on homework, and whatever else you may need.
BUDS
Before anything can bloom, it begins with a bud. It’s often stated that yoga is about relationships. We form relationships with our environment, our diet, our body, our mind, our heart, and with the people around us. You will be partnered with a fellow seeker on your journey - your “bud” - to help you both hold one another accountable, to ask questions, to help with homework, and to practice teaching techniques. You will be required to meet with your “bud” at least once a week during the training.

FROM OUR GRADUATES
“I initially came to the Stone Wave YTT because I wanted to deepen my understanding of yoga and perhaps teach one day. That intention stayed consistent throughout the training and I also ended up deepening my own practice and desire to teach. One really unique thing about the Stone Wave YTT is that they offer SO much guidance and support along the way. The training was facilitated by Liz Glover Wilson and Lisa Bermudez, two incredibly knowledgeable people who have HUGE hearts and want the best for everyone. They were and are always there to offer support along the way. They also offered mentors which was a huge help! I felt totally prepared to teach a 60 min class by the time I got to graduation. We were given the tools necessary to teach a full hour along the way. We actually started teaching on day one which prepared us for the months ahead. I believe anyone who has a yoga practice and is interested in deepening their practice or their understanding of yoga or even if they’re totally new should try this course because it is life changing, totally transformative!”
“I had been practicing yoga consistently for about 5 years when I first came to the Stone Wave Studio. Though I had enjoyed yoga in the past, I came to love it through Stone Wave. My practice grew from attending class once a week to a steady four times a week, including many weekend workshops. At times, it felt as though all of my free time was spent at the studio. I came to love yoga so much, that I wanted to be able to share my love with others, to help others to find a path of love and connectedness, so I decided to search for a yoga teacher training program.
From the first day of training, I knew that this experience would be like no other anywhere else. Liz Glover Wilson and Lisa Bermudez immediately began to foster a connection with and among all of the students in the program. They provided different levels of support for each of us along the way. Each student was given a fellow student buddy. These buddies were affectionately referred to as Buds, since we were all budding yogis. Each pair of Buds, were joined by another pair of Buds, along with a certified teacher as a mentor into Bud Groups.
The program had us teaching each other from the start. This helped us get over the fear of teaching early on in our training. By the time it came for our final practicum, we were all well prepared and confident of our abilities. We also knew that we were safe to take any and all risks needed to be successful.
Since graduating, I have had the opportunity to safely teach a few classes. The training I received from the two lead teachers, mentors, guest teachers and fellow classmates at Stone Wave have prepared me well. I can not speak more highly of any of them. I am grateful to have been a part of this miraculous program, and highly recommend it to anyone”
“Becoming a YOGA teacher and adding 200 hour teacher training to my life was a huge commitment. I wanted to be sure to take this journey in a sacred place where teachers were knowledgeable. As a YOGA practitioner, I always felt welcomed at Stone Wave Yoga and loved the theme “come as you are”. I knew that I could find what I was looking for at Stone Wave and waited for the opportunity to do my teacher training there. I found a community that I could trust to grow to develop a deeper understanding of myself and my relationship to YOGA.
The instructors and all the mentor teachers are dedicated teachers in many ways. Nurturing, compassionate, friendly, positive, loving, kind, and caring. The lead teachers Liz Glover Wilson and Lisa Bermudez designed their teacher training to allow open communication of ideas, honoring my individuality, provided space and encouragement to express myself. I felt free of judgement, learning how to become an active listener, let go of my expectations, and be receptive to being present and in the moment. I truly learned a deeper understanding of YOGA. They taught me ways to incorporate the teachings of YOGA into my lifestyle, making me dig deep into my own belief systems, and existing yoga practice. The facility is surrounded by nature with beautiful views of the gunks, one of my favorite places on earth. I highly recommend Stone Wave Yoga teacher training and would take additional training at Stone Wave if the opportunity arises. ”
